in what context ? the only O.U. i heard of means ortsuntekunft, meaning town lodging, cant help further sorry, phil.

According to Gordon Williamsons "Iron cross of 1939" in regards to awards,

O.U= Local quarters

This one is not on the list but like the others say any abbreviation has to taken in context.

I have one period refferance book at home from SHAEF and it is over 60 pages long the germans loved thier abbreviations as much as the Yanks & later the Brits loved thier acronyms.
