From which unit this Panzer is belonging ?

    Hi,

Just found that on the net and I was wondering if any of you have any idea concerning the unit he was in.. considering the location of the photo.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi JYN,

This is Tiger II #332 of schwere SS-PanzerAbteilung 501 (Kampfgruppe Peiper), captured during the Ardennes Offensive and transported to Spa Belgium, and later to Antwerp and on to the USA. It's the one in the Patton Museum at Fort Knox today.

Where the seller says that the turret has 46308 painted in white, what he's seeing is 463ORDEVAC painted in white letters along the bottom of the turret side. The 463rd Ordnance Evacuation Company of the US First Army recovered the tank in Dec 44 and put that marking on the tank.

    Best,
    Greg
