I had picked up a large group photos up a few years ago at an antique store while buying a Eickhorn 2md mod Luft. Photos and paper are not an area of interest for me...more of a curio to enhance my displays.
Do you suspect these photos came out of a soldiers album? They are wallet sized and one is signed on the back in pencil. How and why typically did servicemen take photos from Germany home...especially of thier enemy. Not quite as much of a war trophy as say, a saber or dagger would be. Secondly, were these photos carried on German soldiers person and I wonder were they taken from battle fields and POW's?
Just curious.
Thank you for any input regarding photos of this nature.
