      It looks good to me

I think Simon and hankmeister's opinions are more authentic and valuable to you

CAn't really say good or bad on this. I'd be VERY hesitant to buy one without iron clad provenance.
The odd things to me are the "Oberst" under von Thoma's signature, and the "Heerespersonalamt" stamp. I don't know why it would be that, but I don't have enough knowledge of the organization of the German army.
I am sure there are others here who could clear this up.
        Where is it being offered?

        best,
        Hank

edit: here's a link with what appears to be von Thoma's sig on a panzer doc:

Thanks for the comments. Doc and Signature looking good to me. I´m just a little bit confused about the stamp.

On known Documents, Thoma also signed the other documents with Oberst. In my oppinion it depends on his rank during the LC campaign.

Wilhelm Ritter von Thoma (* 11. September 1891 Dachau, Oberbayern; † 30. April 1948 Dachau) was Oberst (colonel) in the staff of the OKH and had the titular rank of a "General der schnellen Truppen" (General of tank, armoured and cavalry troops).

                hello Christian,

there is an image of a document like yours in Detlev Niemann catalog, signed with the rank of Oberst but without stamp.

                I hope this helps!

In addition to the example in Detlev's book there's 2 in Forman's book on award docs and 1 in Hartung's. None of them have a stamp, which in any case makes little sense in relation to Thoma's position. Another major difference is in the date 10. Mai. In all 4 examples mentioned above the typeface used is exactly the same and the 10 is distinctive in that a small 0 is used making it look like 1o whilst the 40 has a normal 0.

Incidently the example in Hartung's book is also to a Gefreiter in 4./Pz.Rgt.3

Thanks for the comment Simon. The stamp itself looks good in my eyes. But why is he there? Is there a book or something where the names have been listed?

What has Thoma got to do with the personalamt and how many known authentic examples have you seen with this or any stamp?
