    Germans in Slovakia Army?

    Hello

    Can someone please give me more Info on these Photos?

    On some is written : Divisni Nemocnice 9. Bratislava 1936
    and I wonder because it shows Soldiers holding up a Sign with german writing on it


    I couldn't find any Info about it on the net.

            Makes perfect sense actually as all these pictures predate WW2 there are pics of Czechoslovak national service troops.

            There were German speaking units in the Czechoslovak army before WWII, as well as Hungarian, Rutharian and Slovak (of course). There were large ethnic German minorities(and still are) in former Czechoslovakia e.g.

            The reason why they were in Bratislava was that you always did you national service out of your own distinct.

            So in Slovakia you would find Czeches, Moravians and Sudetens while in the Czech lands you would find Slovaks, Hungrainas and Rutharians etc.

            Most conscript armys still employ this policy.
