      ...

Yes, it is quite a strange photo.

I don't know the awards above the EK and wound badge -- and it does appear to be a Naval dagger. Even more strange.

This old boy put together quite a combination.

Collecting mint condition Imperial German uniforms, visor caps, and Pickelhauben.

Is he from the Navy or the Air Force?

        Regards

Interesting photo: The uniform is Luft and the dagger is Navy. The first award above the WWI EK I is, I believe, a Kriegerverin Cross (I think Bavarian) and the piece above it looks like an SA Tinnie.
There are pictures of other military men wearing daggers from a previous assignment (usually Luftwaffe men wearing Army Daggers).

Maybe he's a wwII collector that started collecting in 45 and figured out that he would wear all he's trofees at the same time to make a great picture.

this is indeed a strange combination.

Here is one for this thread. It is a recent pickup that came in a photo lot. I am not sure of the award.

It looks like one from the series of Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen, the long service decorations awarded for 25 and 40 years service in the civil service and for 50 years in private employment with the same company.

I would say it is the medal for 25 years service given the table decorations in the background

                  Cheers, Ade.
