Knights Cross Signature - views ?

Hi All - this is my first post on this super forum .... and I would really appreciate your views

Have just acquired a KC Doc in quite lovely condition, still in original period card box

Having done a lot of research on this site and others I would just like this forum's thoughts on the signature .....

It seems real enough to me (as opposed to stencil)

    Many thanks for your views

    All the best - Paul

WOW, nice first post! Welcome to the forum. Can't help on the authenticity of the signature, maybe Robin Lumsden or Max History will chip in here, they're pretty sharp on these.

Any chance of a full view of the document?

    best,
    Hank

Hello Hank - thanks for the welcome .. it's appreciated !

Have attached a photo of the full document .... the 2 'strips' are the felt pieces to protect the text and gold name when the doc is closed

Obviously, a physical examination of the document and cover is the only way to assess correctly. However, I have reservations on what I have seen here.

Max - thanks for the response

do you have any recommendation on a suitable person/body in the UK to give a 'physical examination' ?

            Hello Paul,
There are are very few people in the UK who have the specialist expertise in Third Reich autographs and those that have are usually reluctant to give an expert opinion as it could open a barrel of worms.
In the USA, there are a number of people who provide authentication assessments for payment, but one must be very selective as some of these also do not possess the necessary skills. I have seen autographs with so-called 'certificates of authenticity' which were obviously dubious examples. The master of Third Reich autographs is Kenneth W. Rendell, but I believe he no longer provides an authentication service.
            Regards,
            Max.

Just as a comparison, here is an original December 1940 Adolf Hitler signature from the promotion document of his Wehrmacht adjutant, Gerhard Engel.

I am not a signature expert but I believe the AH signature in your KC document is genuine. Please compared to the
attached signature dated 1/7/42 in another KC document.

                  Thanks Chen

This item sold at auction in Uk about 3 years ago for £14000 (UK Sterling) so I guess others believe it to be genuine as well

                  regards
