Bomber bar in gold with hanger certificate

    Hello,
Does anyone have any opinions on this certificate? Any idea on the signature? The stamp reads 'General Kommando I Fliegerkorps'. Any opinions gratefully received.
    Thank-you,
    Andy

Hmm, Well there was a Hans Schwulera, He was awarded the ehrenpokal 6.3.44 as an obergefreiter and beobachter, also the DKiG 1.1.45 as unteroffizier in a kampfgeschwader. The stamp reads XI Fliegerkorps from what i can see, but why is this stamp being used by a geschwader kommodore and why is it being used when the XI Fliegerkorps ceased to exist in March 44? I'm not saying it's bad yet but we need to find out which KG were talking of here.

        Schwulera

Thank-you for the reply. In the Schwerzer publication on the DKiG winners of the Luftwaffe under the unit details it reads 'x/KGx'. With most awards from late 1944 or early 1945 the unit designation seems to be written like this. It seems the records are incomplete from this time.

Also if he was awarded the DKiG 1 Jan 1945 as Unteroffizier, why does this earlier award of July 1944 have him as a Feldwebel?
        Best regards,
        Andy

Well, there could be several reasons for that. It could be that when the reccommendation for the DK was sent in he was still an unteroffizier. His actual award i think will have been earlier than 1.1.45, that's just when his award was announced.
