people posting "afrikakorps" pics in this thread need to have proof that the scenes and troops are Afrika.
Just because a soldier is wearing a pith helmet or a tropical uniform CERTAINLY DOES NOT mean he was in Afrika.
He could well be simply stationed in Italy, Greece, Sicily, Crete, Yugoslavia, Southern Russia or other locations.
I say this because there is a huge amount of misinformation out there surrounding so called "Afrika" photos.
Far too many items get passed off as Afrika related when they are simply "tropical".
I recommend anyone posting pics in this thread have solid evidence their soldiers and scenes are ACTUALLY IN Afrika.
Either that, or simply rename the thread "post your TROPICAL" pics.
By solid evidence, I mean wearing Afrika related awards or identifiable scenes. If your shot has a desert background then obviously it is Afrika. Merely posting a shot of a soldier in pith helmet with a tropical uniform DOES NOT mean he served in Afrika. Please understand this everyone.Last edited by milcollector; 10-02-2006, 04:40 PM.Comment
