I think it looks more like the 183 ID Rick, that's the best match i could find in 'Die Truppenkennzeichen'.

Hi Simon,
I think you are right now that I look at it. My eyes were wanting to see the emblem inside a circle with rounded edges on the top and bottom. Now that I look again, it does indeed look lite 183ID. Thanks for the help!
