    Oscha. Paul Eggers RK-document...

I saw a while ago here on the forum a picture of Oscha. Paul Eggers knight-cross-document...
Is it possible that this document coudl be post here again, cause there are some rumors about his RK (and also with Stubaf. Kurt Hartrampf's RK!)

    Thanks in advance

Lack of Proof for Knight's Cross for Egger

    Tiki,

It's more than a rumor. Veit Scherzer flatly states in his Knight's Cross book (Ritterkreuzträger, Scherzers Militaire-Verlag, Ranis/Jena, 2005) that there is no proof that he was ever awarded the Knight's Cross. Scherzer admits that the Award Association for the Knight's Cross (Ordensgemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger) may have information that could lead to a different conclusion, but the AAKC/Bundesarchiv have refused to let him look at the documents they MAY have (privacy laws, since Fellgiebel, the donar of much of the archival material, is dead).

It would be interesting to see something in this regard, but I suspect that a KC preliminary award document for that late in the war would be hard to prove.

    Regards,
    Bob Edwards

      Hi Bob,
      i know about that...

I stay in contact with Stubaf. Kurt Hartrampfs son! He mentioned, that his father received the promotion to Ostubaf. on the same date, as he was awarded with the nc...
But he never received it, cause of the lack of Ritterkreuze!

I have found the picture of Ostuf.(??) Eggers RK-document, look:

Can anyone check this document of the correct signs of the namens...

        Ok, as you can see...
... the rk-document is a very bad copy!
The copy is as good as his own made Ostuf. picture....

What makes me confuses..., cause i have never heard
        of things like that before!
Oscha. Egger himself stated to me,
that he was promoted from Oberscharführer directly to
        Obersturmführer!!!

Even i know, Egger was 2 times on Kriegs-Junker-Lehrgänge, but
never ended the courses with success...

So he overjumped 2 ranks (Hschaf./Ustuf.), and for me this is not possible...

Any infos about that would be great

So could someone answer this in plain English - what is the story on Paul Eggers? Is he being accused of fabricating his award of the RK? Or is it a matter of the recommendation being lost and never officially being approved? He is recognized by the OdR, is he not?

Ok, P. Egger takes up for itself, that his last rank was Obersturmführer and RK-Träger.

But none of his comrades ever saw him with a Ritterkreuz nor the rank of Obersturmführer! Even his former Pz-Funker, who was together with him till the elbe river in Mai 45, only knew him as SS-Oberscharführer!

The OdR led Egger as RK-Träger, but er is no document in the archives, who could confirm the award...

the RK-document, that comes directly from Egger, is also a prepared document, no original!

Well unfortunately Mr. Eggers has passed away so it no longer matters.

His KC (with other items) is displayed in a honor table of the "Gemeinschaft" in Schladming (Austria) where he is buried.

I have a good contact with his partner who lived with him, so I will ask her...
