Mein Kampfs 1925 & 1927

I just went on abebooks.com to see the current price of the 1925 and 1927 copies of Mein Kampf . I almost had a stroke when I saw 2 copies going for $12,500 . Are people really paying this amount for these books?

No, unless there's something special about them, like a dedication from AH to a significant individual or something like that. Otherwise you can still find sets of both volume first editions for $1200, and probably even less if you're patient!

Those real expensive ones on abebooks have been on there for many months, too. IMO the prices on abebooks aren't a good guide; some sellers want $300 for a common late 1930s Volksausgabe. Though I have bought a couple of nice examples from there.

There was a nice first edition in original bindings on our Estand a few months ago for EUR 650.

I agree, US$1200 is about the right price for both first editions in good condition and they can be found for that with a little patience....Cheers, Torsten.

But I don't see any of the outrageous ones on abebooks selling ...

I see what you`re saying about the ones on abebooks. Then again I see Mein kampfs , common blue cover ones, slipping through on ebay and selling for almost 200.00 and a wedding version sold for over 300.00. I sold at least 10 copies of wedding versions about a year ago for 100.00- 150.00 and thought I was getting a good deal
