Hi could anyone please tell me how much they think my three Feldpost letters and one Feldpost Karte from Stalingrad might be worth? The Feldpost number is 08279 and written by Ogfr. One is unfortunately ripped and all have punch hoes in. They are all readable and the stamps are clear. I also have one other Feldpost Karte from Neisse, no number on. The last item is a letter written in Sudlinger with the 6pfg stamp on, I can't read it at all!!This one is I think normal mail. Where is the best place to buy and sell Feldpost. Thankyou for any information.

Welcome to the forum,
Probably not more than a couple of dollars/euro each, tops. Most FP letters are pretty boring stuff.
Maybe a bit more from a well known soldier, or a unit somebody is actively looking for.
Hope that helps a bit

Have you confirmed that FP#08279 as of the date of the cancellation is a unit known to have been at Stalingrad? These types of things may not excite militaria collectors, but there are thousands of stamp and postal history collectors who place a GREAT deal of value on such items (if genuine, of course). Also, unlike cloth, medals & badges - fake postal items are much more difficult to pass off. There is an entire organization in Germany called the BUND PHILATELISTISCHER PR******220;FER e. V. (http://www.bpp.de/) which can render an opinion on such items. I can tell you from experience that any individual item mailed out of the Stalingrad "kessel" is worth $200+

feldpost
Hi, thankyou both for your information. Very helpful indeed, stopped me from selling my letters for peanuts. I know the letters are genuine, they are from a very dear friend of mine and I therefore know where they came from. They are also definitely written from near Stalingrad as the author mentions it in all his letters and Ian from the forum has confirmed the feldpost for me. The last letter was written on the 12/12/42, so just before the last post to come out of Stalingrad. Thankyou so much again for your advice.
