              Fantastic "then and now" photographs! I was in Rome this past March and fell in love with the city (and the food ). Lets see some more pictures if you got them. Thanks for sharing.

                  Great shots. I was in Rome only 2 weeks ago so now i actually know where some of those places are. I have a couple of Mussolini era photos i'll put up later.
                  Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

                    they are only "then", but i thought these might interest you: a small set of pics from 114. J******228;ger-Div. Jan/Feb 1944 passing through Rome on the way to hell, Nettuno. at least they had some time for sightseeing before...

                                You can see the outline of removed fasces on this government building that was directly opposite our hotel.


                                In the park where Trajan's baths and the domus aurea are located were several of these dilapidated statue\fountain bases.
