    Waffen-SS amphibian car id?

this is an original photo, but the left handside has been overexposed... I know nothing about these vehicles, but it looks to me like it is an amphibian vehicle of some sort...? Would anyone be able to tell what it is and also could anyone have a guess at the unit form the cuffband??

    Cheers, Torsten.

        Hi Torsten:
A Volkswagen Schwimmwagen, of which about 14,000 were produced, 1942-1944. It was known as a Kfz.1/20, a K2s and a VW 166. They seem to have been favoured by the SS and other special branches.
        Here is a better image.

Hi Bill, thank you very much for your help...it probably is a K2s then I guess??....or was there also a K2c, as this is what it looks like on the identification sign on the door of the car??...Cheers and thanks again, Torsten.

PS: Would you be able to tell what the vehicles on the second photo are? Some type of armoured personal carriers I assume?

Hi Torsten, the APC's in post number 3 would appear to be Sdkfz. 250's or 251's.

                Cheers, Ade.

                    Those are SdKfz.251's

These are nice photos. I like the Schwimmwagen, regardless of the over-exposure
