I know some of you guys/girls are good in translations/reading old german etc.
Here's some text in the lid of a gasmask canister,the guy's name is Gierke and the last word is Rathenow,but the rest... ?

I'd say he was a Uffizier (Uffz. Gierke). Can't help you with the rest
