Info about Luftwaffe fighter ace

Hi everybody,

I´m looking for any information about the Luftwaffe fighter ace and Oakleaves winner Wolf-Udo Ettel. All I know is that he flown with the Jagdgeschwader 3 and Jagdgeschwader 27, reaching 124 confirmed victories before have been killed in action on 17.07.1943.

I´d like to know his first victory, dates of awards (DKiG, Eherenpokal, RK, EL), and how many of his victories were reached in the Western Front. Any pictures are also welcome.

Wolf Ettel. RKT

Hi Douglas, I have a few small pieces of info which I hope will be of some help. Wolf Ettel was born on 26-2-1921 in Hamburg, and joined 4/JG 3 as a Leutnant serving on the Eastern Front in 1942. His first 2 victories were achieved on 24-6-1942. Some significant award dates were, DKiG 1-2-1943, Ehren Pokel 25-6-1943, Ritterkreuz 1-6-1943, Eichenlaub (289) 31-8-1943. Of his 124 victories, 4 were on the Western Front. Of his 120 victories on the Eastern Front 92 were against fighter aircraft.
