    "Adler" collectors?

    Hello,

I would like to ask if there are also “Adler” magazine collectors among us?

    Cheers,
    Pascal

    Adler Collector

I have a couple I bought in a military show (quite expensive in Calgary), but I have about 50 copies of History of the Second World War I bought for $2.00 a magazine.

    Thanks Indra

Thanks Indra for your reply. The reason why I asked for “Adler” collectors is that I am in search for a specific number.
I am in search of the September or October issue of 1940. I think there should be an article in there about Heinrich Paepcke’s first Knight Cross.

I was wondering if someone could tell me in which issue that article appeared.

      Thanks,
      Pascal

I have a bunch of issues but didn't consider collecting Der Adler like I collect Signal... just yet!

I bought the five-volume facsimile of the German edition of Der Adler which is quite enough to compare between the magazines. I certainly wouldn't mind putting down serious money for the more obscure publications of course, especially the Arabic edition.

          Indra,
I have 84 copies of History of the 2nd WW, damn near impossible to get ALL the issues when I collected them, one at a time back in 1978 or 79. How and when did you get yours? I've seen them sometimes on ebay, I'd still like to complete mine one day.

@ Langemarck, sorry I don't have any information about Adler

            Alexander,

I am just like you a “Signal” man but I was thinking as well of buying the five-volume facsimile of the German edition of Der Adler.
I thought I saw it somewhere for 140 euro. Is it worth it?
But more important could you have a look if Paepcke’s announcement is in there?

              Pascal,

I don't believe the five-volume facsimile is worth this much, the books turn up on eBay Germany in a regular fashion and presently seem to sell for about €50. Ebay keeps deleting them (the books were banned in Germany), however a few sets tend to escape their attention.

I have my set at another place and cannot remember about Paepcke, I'll check and let you know as soon as possible.

                Alexander,

Thank you for the info one the Adler set. I will have a look at eBay.
And if you could have a look for me for Paepcke, that would be great.

                  Der Adler

                  Hey Langemarck,

the 'Adler' you are looking for is number 20 from 1.October1940. On page 490 is the article about Oblt. Paepcke and a little story about his duty to receive the knight cross. It says:

There is also an article about Paepcke in the book "Das waren die deutschen Kampffligerasse" from Georg Brütting, Motorbuchverlag

                  greetings

                    Hi Walle,

This is just the kind of information I am looking for.

Pascal, this particular article is not included in the five-volume facsimile. Glad to see Walle identified the issue you were looking for. Helmut Weitze (www.weitze.net) has one for sale (item No 9368).

                          @ Alexander,
Thanks for the tip, I already ordered the specific Adler (Was item number 9367 by the way ) together with the book "Das waren die deutschen Kampffligerasse" from Weitze.
He didn't confirm my order yet, so I'm still living in hope.

                          @ Volkert,
                          What a guy hey .
