Helmet hanging on a gun question

I'm looking for pictures of the famous soldier's helmet hanging on a gun...anyone know where to find pictures of this? I want to find as many as possible, links will do as I wish to get a comemorative tattoo for a family member. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even an artists name who might have painted a version.

You mean like a grave marker, where a rifle is stuck to the ground by its bayonet and a helmet set on top of it?

Here is such an image taken from Iraq.

        Courtesy of an unknown photographer.

        A haunting image.

That's a staged image. I don't think finding that kind of genuine image is easy as I'm pretty sure it's Hollywood made up. They did not leave rifles like that on the battlefields or at the graveyards. Don't you know an artist that can draw this for you ?

Here's one, looks like there's a rifle, but with a cross in front:

                Hey DUMMY...

This 'staged image' was created by the man's unit as part of his comrades' memorial for his loss.

                Try showing some respect!

I will make no apology for my anger.

My comment regarding Hollywood is not directed to THAT specific picture, but to that specific kind of pictures.

                          Jokka,

You obviously have not been in Combat to make such a statement as you have made...whether ceremonial or a real battlefield marker it reflects a casualty of war and not some hollywood movie.

Seem to remember it being taught as an SOP. Helps those whose job it is to deal with the dead to find the bodies.

As for WWII photos, i've seen all sorts including graves 'decorated' with a rifle stuck in the ground at each corner
