Is it the same Eicke? I find it hard to beleive a Divisional commander would sign an extract counting for combat days.......as can be seen it should be signed by the Company commander which is normal in this case!?!?!?

I am not particularly comfortable with it......any other thoughts?

..ok. first things first..if you are questioning the signature, lets stop right there .It is a genuine Eicke signature, from his driver and Radio operator Nickolaus Korner..i will now scan all his documents ..what i would like to know,is if anyone can identify the other signatures.I have many documents from his service file.

hope this lessens that "uncomfortable" feeling..

It seems entirely reasonable to me that Eicke would sign his driver's document in this way to certify a 'combat day'........a combat day that the two men probably spent in each other's company.

Korner was wounded quite severely and lost partial use of his hand for many months..He drove ambulances,and staff cars,as well as being used in his radio communications role.This man received some of the most important communiques in history,and yet is relegated to a footnote in history..according to his brother,he drove Eicke when the man had suffered a nervous collapse.
