    Wittmann Clipped Signature

    Hello,
I am new to this site and have a question, I have a clipped signature of Michael Wittmann and was wondering if anybody could tell me if it is a legit signature? I tried to post but the site would not let me. I can send the .jpg to anybody who is interested in looking at it.

    Hi,
If this is the one you mean, then no, I would not have any doubts about it. It looks okay. Did you purchase it recently?
    Regards!

Yes this is mine, I also have a nice envelope signature as well. Yes I did purchase this recently, trying to just obtain some more information on this type of thing, are Wittmann's hard to get?

It is 100% authentic and compares to a signature that was sold in a german auction house 6 months ago.

If the photo was signed by the Michael Wittmann in everyone's mind, he did it from the heaven - he could not sign this 506 Abteilung Tiger photo from Aachen alive!

Well, after looking at the scan twice it appears that the photo (or printed paper ??) was later attached to the signed paper. One can say that it was attached much later time by someone else and shows absolutely unrelated subject, but I have to say that it does not confirm nor decline the authenticity of the signature.

I know only one 100% original, and it is the one I would like to have in my collection if I have a chance...

                      More Wittmann

Well I really have started something, I think the discussion is great, but does not lead me to any conclusion one way or another on this. I did compare this to the Agte work and thought it compared well, but I am no expert. I purchased this from a very reputable person in Germany who I have purchased a number of clipped signatures, all of Luftwaffe top aces. I also own this Wittmann signed envelope, and only have a scan of the Wittmann signed letter. My clipped signature is on a second, firmer stock of paper, but I am assuming that that could have happened anywhere along the way.

Who is the dealer who sold this?
                          Simple question.
                          How about a simple answer?

                            ZT692,

In order to be able to attach pictures you'll have to sign up to become an Association Member. It costs only $25 per year.
                            A SUPER investment...

The Wittmann signature looks like a forgery! I dont like the signature. The ink signature seems as postwar! Also i m missing the power in the signature! If you compare with original handwritting signature of Wittmann you can see the different! ralf
