RKT Adolf Schmahl

Hi,

Does anyone have any information on RKT Adolf Schmahl, all I know about him is that he won his RK in Russia.

I was hoping to find out,
- what units he was in.
- the dates of his awards.
- an other information on him.

Here is some info about Schmahl. I believe he was a member of the OdR. If any member owns "Das Ritterkreuz", they might check in the obituary section if Schmahl is deceased or not as well as other details about his biography.

I had the pleasure of visiting Adolf Schmahl at his home in Germany several years ago. Shortly after that he left Germany and moved to England. Last I heard he was living in Lympne in Kent.

Thanks Gordon, but I have already wrote to him, and he seems like a very nice man (he returned my cheque I sent). I was just looking for a bit of information to go with the signed photo I have of him.

Yes OdR is the Ordergemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger (spelling ?), the association of the KC holders. They publish a quaterly magazine since 1955 (if my memory serves) dealing with matters related to KC holders.
These issues are relatively difficult to find. You can try among German antique bookshops or on eBay Deutschland.
