Hello:
I just received a photo album from a Kriegsmarine (coastal) artillery unit and I know nothing about the unit/location/timeframe. The photos mainly center around a personnel and vehicle inspection. The inspection is being carried out by an unknown Kapitänleutnant who wears the Hilfskreuzer badge, the EK1 and the Spanish Cross with swords.
The unit has mainly Opel Blitz trucks with either a 20mm flak cannon or a high-sided trailer in tow. There are also a host of other mixed wheeled vehicles and staff cars on display. I have been unable to identify these so far.
All the men are in Kriegsmarine field grey uniforms. The area appears lush, green with many palm trees. Two pictures clearly show what I think is the abby of Monte Cassino atop hill in the background.
Is there any way what-so-ever to research/reference the unit based off of three plates which I can see: WM 110628, WM110710, WM 32154.
Thanks for any assistance in this!
