    Ok here we go.

    I./KG26

    1. Uffz. Herbert Gabriel 1./KG26 21.08.42
    2. Uffz. Anton Graf 1./KG26 05.02.44
    3. Fw. Heinz Kattlack 1./KG26 05.02.44
    4. Fw. Georg Maier 1./KG26 05.02.44
    5. Fw. Felix Schlenkermann 1./KG26 21.08.42

    II./KG26

    6. Uffz. Friedrich Hofer 4./KG26 05.11.42
    7. Fw. Josef Hoppe 4./KG26 10.07.42
    8. Uffz. Gustav Klemme 5./KG26 22.05.43
    9. Fw. Wilhelm Streb 5./KG26 23.01.43
    10. Fw. Alfred Dieckmann 6./KG26 04.01.43
    11. Fw. Arnold v.d. Kammer 6./KG26 04.01.43
    12. Fw. Leo Wagner 6./KG26 04.01.43

    III./KG26

    13. Uffz. Georg Mikowski 7./KG26 24.02.44
    14. Fw. Hans Tietgen 7./KG26 24.02.44

    Others from KG26

    15. Fw. Maximillian Frank KG26 17.10.43
    16. Fw. Walter Roth KG26 17.10.43

The volksbund database is still not up. However looking at the above, might it be fair to assume that a Feldwebel who was awarded the DKiG in 1942 or january 43 might have risen in rank by 1945? if that is the case we can assume numbers 5, 7, 9, 10,11 and 12 are unlikely. That leaves us 10 possibles
If we had a better date then we might be able to eliminate I or III KG26. I will say that the photo is most unlikely to be from Bardufoss in January '45 seeing as there is no sun at that time.
We can also assume our man is a Ju-88 or Ju-188 pilot.

      Thanks for the names Simon,

The guy has to be a pilot and not to have receive the goblet before august 1944

So, with all the "if" we could reduce the list to 5 names:

      I./KG26
      1. Uffz. Herbert Gabriel 1./KG26 21.08.42
      5. Fw. Felix Schlenkermann 1./KG26 21.08.42

      III./KG26

      Others from KG26
      16. Fw. Walter Roth KG26 17.10.43

Next step is to see, out of the list, who was still alive in 1945. Ian, maybe you can help

      I assume here
      a - the guy is from KG26
b - Winners of the goblet didn't receive also the Ehrenblattspange of the LW

I may be getting a little far-fetched here, but since this guy is wearing an M43 cap (doesn't look like a Bergmuetze to me) wouldn't that preclude all those with award dates of 1942?

As i understand it the photo is dated 1945.

There are some big 'ifs' here. We are assuming that this guy is a bomber pilot and that he was in KG26 when awarded the DKiG and still with the unit in 1945. I don't know how common it was for aircrew to transfer between geschwader???

            Hello
I have checked the whole list given by Simon to find any KC holders recipients among them as this criterai would have excluded the fetched records provided that they were awarded the RK before 45 but none of them received it.
            Sorry
