Oh well - given to me by a u-boat crewman who said he took it during his boats shakedown cruise... He is old (83) and must be mistaken.

To me it looks close to one of the post-war British carriers. Any chance of enlarging the shot?

That makes sense - he was in POW camp in the UK. I will enlarge later today.
