Infanterie photo album on the eStand

    Hi guys-

I was wondering if some of you could give me your thoughts on the album which I currently have up for sale on the estand:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=155492

To be honest, I am a bit surprised that this one hasn't sold yet, despite repeated price reductions

Maybe it's just me, but I thought that this was a rather attractive, 100% original and complete early war album. Granted, there aren't any "combat" shots but now I am wondering if perhaps the price is still too high?

Your thoughts and comments would be most appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Rob

    Hi Rob,
Your album looks perfectly original, well captionned and in good condition.
I'd say your starting price was too high, because there are only 166 military photos. Now, I have paid 300$ for such an amount of photos in the past, but this album does not have the "front" look that many other albums from France 1940 have: destroyed French tanks, black POW's, shot down planes etc etc.
If there weren't some good photos of Panzer, SdKfz, ships etc your price would still be too high but I think now it is getting reasonable
    Hope this helps

Seems like a good honest album but it all boils down to what people are interested in. On the purely military front there seems to be half a dozen to a dozen photos of any real interest. Other than that it's down to location and if anyone is particualrly interested in any of the places seen in the shots, that's what i go for myself as i'm on the look out for albums from my home town.

Another way of looking at it is not $225 for 255 photos (which is very reasonable) but $225 for a dozen moderately interesting photos and a few dozen less so.

The above comments are worth their weight in gold. I saw this post before I saw the sale. I thought this might be an chance to get an album before another. While there are some very nice photos - I like the portraits and the halftrack, the rest just did not get the push - for me. Others may disagree and have their thoughts.

When I saw infantry album, I was thinking more technical/frontline photos, even more training shots.

There is no magic to this. It is all in the eye of the beholder. Who knows? Tomorrow a guy may hope to pay only $300.00 for it!

Very good point, Simon. I wasn't looking at it from a strictly "military action/combat" point of view, but from a complete, original photographic documentation of one soldier's "early-war" service time. I was starting to wonder if people were skeptical of the album's 'originality' but I'm glad to hear that this is not the case.

          Thanks again, guys.
          Rob
