    Hi Denis,
Is this GFM Gerd von Rundstedt?

      Hello Dick
I thought about this possibility at first glance since this guy and Gerd are really very similar but I change my opinion due to the following fact :
      - look at Rundstedt's ears : I read once that each person have a unique ears' shape. (Off the record, looking at ears shape was a method used before the fingerprints in criminology)
To come back to the GFM's ears, they differ from those belonging to the unknown guy (see my pic below). Besides, the bottom of cheeks between the 2 photo are also different as well as the bags under the eyes.

If someone told me that I will be interested by German GFM ears, I would treat him as a fool !!

To make more difficult the identification, the KC seems to be artifically applied to the photo (this might suggest that the guy would have posthumously awarded the RK or at the very end of the war)
Note also that the right bottom part of the photo was also "paintbrushed".

Do other members agree with my "ear history" to make me more comfortable with it ?

Regards and thanks for the input
      Denis

I look at ears (most important), nose and jaw when comparing figures in photos. Didn't know that it was used in criminology, interesting!

          Hi Denis,
I totally agree. You are also right about the ears. I read someplace that this was also very important to the Germans. That they always included the persons left ear in ID photos. Denis, did you receive my thank you email concerning the postcard you sent? Also, I will have your photos in the mail this weekend. Please send me, by private email, your present home address so that I can be sure to send them to the right place. Thanks, my friend.
          Best Regards,
          Dick

Just a note. Your eras and your nose are two bodyparts that never cease to grow, thus one sometimes think that elder have very large ears etc.

I also think it's worth noting that the ritterkreuz looks strange, has it been added afterwards?

            Best regards/ Daniel
