    "Alter Kommandant" of VP-Boot 715

    Dear All,

    Here is nice photo of the VP-Boot 715 crew which was preseted to her CO on his 43rd birthday. This picture was taken after May 1st 1944.

    Can anyone give some info on the boot?

      Hello Albert,

      Hope this little info will help you.

      VP 715 was part of the 7th Vorpostenfotille.
      This folttile was stationed in Brest from june 1940.

      Flotillenchef was:

      april 1940 korvettenkapitaen Hamacher
      may 1944 korvettenkapitaen Dr Ludolf Jacobi

        Thanks Peter,

        Sure helps! The guy above is KaLeu von Horn. He indeed got the DKiG in Brest. I found some additional info too, shortly after the above photo was taken, the boot was sunk by Canadian destroyers. Luckily, many sailors and von Horn survived.
