What's a "Staffelmann"? I also just don't like that signature on it. Also, "Hauptsturmfuhrer" is misspelled. I'm sure mistakes happened though...

I have practically no expertise in SS stuff, but all in all I don't like this. But that's just my gut feel, I may be 100% wrong.

            Authentic

It's just fine. There's nothing wrong with this ausweis.

Agree with Jay. It's a good piece, no question. I'm trying to decipher the name of the SS-Hstuf. (yes, misspelled but typos happne. See? One just happned. And now two have happned. Etc.), but no luck yet- First name either Rolf or a scrunched-up Rudolf, surname begins with a "B" but I can't make out the rest. Looking for "B"-named officers of that rank who served as Pioniere in the SS-VT on John Moore's "Fuhrerliste der Waffen-SS" but am coming up empty-handed.

Cool! See, I don't know enough, that's why I'd err on the side of caution. That's what I'm here for though, to learn.

In old German script the capital "B" looked more like an "L". I believe the last name of the SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer starts with a "K" and may be Kampmann.

                    Just my opinion.

                    Cheers,

The signature is childish - looks like someone who has taught himself Sutterlin and is trying his hand at faking documents. I don't like the color of the ink either - too bright.
If I was a SS-Hauptsturmfuehrer, I would not sign a document which misspelled my rank. Mistakes happen, but that doesn't mean they are acceptable to the person signing it - makes him look like an idiot.

If misspellings on the internet are enough evidence for you, then please buy it. Meanwhile, I will be preparing some more items for your purchase!

Seriously though, the signature alone turns me off. Get a money back guarantee on your purchase.
