    A Photo I want to Share

    I'm making this post for Chris.

    Hi Bill,
    I am sending you a photo I just picked up and I was wondering if you'd post it for me please?
    Actually, I got it off Ebay about 2 1/2 years ago and gave it to my buddie and fellow collector, Eddie as a Christmas gift. Sadly, he unexpectedly passed away in Dec. at 38.
    His widow found the photo the other day and wanted me to have it. I always thought it was a great photo and now it has a place of honor in my collection.
    Anyway, I wanted to share this great image with the forum and also see if someone could decipher the back for me. A million thanks Bill!!

      Nice photo Chris;
      Seems like the back says that Uffz. Krüger was second in the row (not sure: II des .....), and that he belonged to the 8th Kompagnie of Infanterieregiment 96 in 1938.

        imho the second line means "2. Reserve ******220;bung" or "II. Bataillon Reserve-******220;bung"
        the words in line 3 read "Deutsch-Krone", which was the garrison of the II. Bataillon of IR 96. Today the town is polish and called Walcz.
