    Eugenics Books at Holocaust Museum

Today, I went to the Holocaust Museum, and the most interesting displays were the ones on literature and there was a few books that were on Eugenics. I wanted to write them down, but I did not have a pen but I have seen the books before. Can any one help me in locating books that follow this description:

Most Titles contain (Raffen, Rennen, Ratten), but I believe the translation is Race in German

One is titled Raffen... and has a picture of a king on it.

There are any number of titles in this odious topic that bear collecting.

The author most quoted in secondary works on the subject is Hans F. K. Günther.

He authored, Kleine Rassenkunde des deutschen Volkes with approx 150 pages, while the unabridged version extends to over 500 pages.

Dr. Ludwig Claus wrote several books on the subject. Die Nordische Seele and Rasse und Charakter come to mind.

Die Juden in Deutschland published by Franz Eher, the official Press of the NSDAP is a basic source.

    There are many others available.

By the way, you were tricked by fraktur version of S. It's not Raffen it is Rassen. The s and f can be confusing.

    Hope this gets you started.

Thank you, I finally stumbled upon some of the books I found in the museum. The only book left I am looking for has a picture of a person/king above the title. The museum had a great collection: Zyklon B Pellets (in a sealed container), Zyklon B, Reichs War Flag, Ein Volk Ein Reich Ein Fuhrer Poster, Lots of Torahs, A casting of an oven, a model of a concentration camp "shower", a SA Brownshirt, and a few Concentration Camp uniforms. There was a great exhibit called "Deadly Medicine", where they talked about Eugenics, how to create a master race. A very powerful museum, housing personal effects, and pictures of victims. I actually ran into a few Veterans (US), and a few Camp Survivors. I recommend everyone to see this museum, when they go to D.C.

I've always found it disturbing that the nazi's get all the notoriety for Eugenics. They were by-far the worst when it came to murder, but the United States was second to Germany with sterilizations. The trials at Nuremburg brought this out as a defense for the war criminals.

Really, I was at the Library yesterday, and they had a book called "the case for sterilization" by an American author. I couldnt read past the fifth page.
