      Hi John,

      Its difficult to find info on this guy. The one photo you show is the only one i've found on the web. An Oberst Beelitz did take part in writing some manuscripts as part of the US Army historical studies after the war.


      Annex 6 (7b) The Battle around Bologne (see B-265), by Oberst Dietrich Beelitz and Oberst Adolf Heckel.

      Another site I found does list him as a MG.

      <BIG>Chief of staff 10th army Generalmajor Dietrich Beelitz (01/11/44-02/05/45).</BIG>

      <BIG>He also served as Kesserlings Operations Officer.</BIG>

      I'll keep searching maybe theres a picture of him serving with Kesserlings or the 10th Army Staff somewhere.

          Beelitz was also the last Heer General who survived. I think that he died in 2002.

              As far as I know the only Wehrmacht General that is still alive is Heinz Trettner. The last to die was Otto Kumm.
