    Blacklight / Photos question

    Hi all,

I recently picked up a few new panzer portrait photos from one seller. Most of the pictures were original war-time prints in my opinion, although one was a definite postwar reprint based on the lack of detail, the feel of the paper, and the fact that it glowed like a Christmas tree.

There were two other pictures however that I am curious about. These two pictures had the detail of an original and the front surface of the pictures did not glow. However, the sides and reverse of both pictures do glow under the blacklight, although not as badly as the one that was a definate repro. An no, it isn't just a reflection.

My opinion is that these two are postwar reprints from the original negatives but on newer paper or at least using newer chemicals. Does this sound about right to anyone? I also just saw one of these two pictures being offered for sale on Ebay by a different seller last week, so obviously there is at least one more copy out there.

    Thanks for your input.
