I possess a few Feldpost letters for the same individual, I have not had the chance to get them translated. I don't even know anything about the sender, so I thought I would see if any else can help. I have photographed the reverse of several letters, sorry about the lack of clarity, my camera is not very good. Can anyone identify anything from the pic?

Looks like they belonged to an SS-Rottenfuhrer Hofmann.
The only SS unit using FP No. 18265 was the Rgts.Stab. for SS-Polizei. Panzergrenadier Rgt.2 starting October 18, 1943 under Pol.Pz.Gren.Div. The unit was near Leningrad at this time.
On Oct. 22, 1943, the unit was renamed SS-Polizei-Panzergrenadier-Rgt. 8. The unit served in Greece, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Pomerania, and West Prussia under the 4.SS-Pol.Pz.Gren.Div.

Thanks Rik, thats a great help. I might have another look to see if there is any other information on the other envelopes. I have around eight or so letters, than run over a few years right up to 1945. So it would be interesting to find out more.Comment
