Need help understanding what this document is and says.

It is referencing the promotion recommendation for Mohnke. I believe the promotion is approved (genehmigt), but asks for copies of the report cards (so to speak) of his Company Leader and Stabs Officer courses.

Hello.
I agree with Hank that the pictured document concerns promotions.It is a coverletter to the SS-Personnel Office and it states that the listed recommendations for promotions are approved with the exception of the one for W. Mohnke. For Mohnke the evaluations/grades for the company commander- and staffofficers courses he attended have been requested by Himmler..

Spot on. The letter is signed by SS-Stubaf. (later SS-Staf.) Dr. Rudolf Brandt, the Personal Referent of Himmler and is also acknowledged as read by SS-Gruppenf******252;hrer (later SS-O'Gruf.) Walter Schmitt, the Chief of the SS Personnel Office. His initials appear in green pencil at the bottom right corner of the SS-Personalhauptamt ink stamp receipt box.

So I have a document that concerns a famous combat officer reviewed by other noted officers and the large green H is that of Himmler?

What would something like this be worth on todays market?

No, the green initials are those of Schmitt, as explained above. There is no large "H"; it is the date.

I stand corrected as it does look like an H

The only question that remains - is this just an intersting peice of paper or something of value..?

It has some value because collectors want items like this. Although the content is about Mohnke, it is only a covering letter about paperwork and therefore of little interest. What value there is, is contained in the signatory, Brandt. As Himmler's Personal Referent and a defendant in the Doctors' Trial, where he was convicted and hanged, his signature carries some value. Don't get over-excited though; it's not worth that much because his signature is quite common.

The intials of Schmitt are of some interest as well, as he was an SS-Obergruppenfuhrer und General der Waffen-SS, a Hauptamtschef, recipient of the Golden Party Badge, and was hanged by the Czechs in September 1945. Of course, being Chef of the SS-Personalhauptamt, he signed and initialled reams of documents, such documents are not extremely rare.
