    Albert Speer: Die neue Reichskanzlei

Hi Guys, I just searched the forum, but could not find anything on this book. Someone just offered me a Third Edition Die neue Reichskanzlei by Albert Speer...this is the huge coffee table type book about the Reichskanzlei....I have not got any photos of it as yet, but apparently it is in very good condition. What would be a sensible price to pay for this book in today's market?? Please help, before I have to make a decision on it... Cheers, Torsten.

Prices are all over the shop on this title.

What is the condition? Foxing, the text block, etc need to be assessed. Does it have its dust jacket? Is it complete with its foldouts? Are you buying to resell?

Prices I have personally seen range from $90 to over $700+. I think a reasonable range is in the 300 to 450 area.

Hi Ramon, I have not got photos of it as yet...but, it does not have the dust jacket (can you post a pic of one for reference??...I have not seen the dust jacket before... ). Seller says that it is in very good condition and is complete with the fold out architectural plans, etc. I am thinking about offering him the equivalent of US$300...??....lets see what happens when I do that...??... he actually does not live too far away from me, so I think I will suggest to call to see him this week and if it looks ok, then I will just take it with me... Cheers, Torsten.

Here's an example of a typical jacket. This is from my collection.

thank you very much for the pic... if I recall correctly from previous examples that I have owned, then that same photo is also in the book itself?? Cheers, Torsten.

Yes, the Arbeitzimmer illustration on the cover also appears in the book itself.

well, I have just been to see the man (little trip to North Wales) and bought the book. It is in very good condition and complete and only has some minor blemish on the front cover...paid less than the US$300 that I had planned on spending if necessary and so, I am quite happy... would anyone like to see pics of the book in a couple of days???...Cheers, Torsten.

Torsten, would love to see some pics. I've been trying to get a copy of one of these for a while but am too cheap to pay the asking price at which most copies can be found. You didn't do too badly on the price. Here's one I found on ebay for comparison.

Hi Richard, I am not entirely sure that what this seller sold is the Die neue Reichskanzlei??...the sample pics certainly look like it might be, but he describes it as part of a series of books with 70 pages and it being a B-issue from September 1939...sounds to me more like something from the Kunst im deutschen Reich series of publications or something similar, as these were published in A and B issues??....the Die neue Reichskanzlei that I have got here has 129 numbered pages plus the architectural drawings in the appendix???....below is a pic of an issue of the Kunst im deutschen Reich...Cheers, Torsten.
