    Question regarding wartime newspaper obituarys

    Hello,

I have a question regarding wartime newspaper obituarys,Are the ones for high ranking officers, high ranking party members, members of elite units, highly decorated soldiers/pilots etc worth anything?I collect/have an interest in death/memorial cards and I have found that there are usually more persomal information given in newpaper obituarys than on deathcards and deathcards can run up to the $100 range.I was looking over some of my wartime newspapers and was finding obituarys for SS men, high ranking ex SA men, high ranking NSDAP members,a few highly decorated pilots etc and was curious if they were worth anything or if they made that edition of that paper worth more.

Yancy, I had sold some obituarys that were cut out of the newspaper and they did not sell for that much. I find a wealth of infromation on prayer cards and most are really not that much. The KC cards or U-boat cards are high--SS cards, Cross in gold cards about the same and so on. They are interesting items. Mike

You gentlemen also know that the Sterbebilder are also repro'd
these days. - especially to the RKTs and DKiG winners. Easy to do.

        Hello,

Here are a few examples of interesting obitarys that I found in wartime newspapers that i have.As for them being reproductions i would never buy a cut out obitaury(or death/memorial card for that matter) of a high ranking officer ,RKT and DKiG winners,I havent even come across any of these in my newspapers(and i have alot of wartime newspapers!)

Very interesting additions. This is also a very 'odd' one. Dr. Walter Zimmermann was killed in Action in Italy in 1944. It mentions at the bottom that the family is in mourning along with the family in CHICAGO, USA.
