    8MM Film Question

A friend of mine has some Reels of 8MM Military Film from WW2 Germany.
I was told that the film from that era over time actualy becomes Unstable and can Explode.
The person who told me this was Charlie Snyder. Not the most honest dealer out there, but he had nothing to gain by telling me this at a show earlier this year.

This sounds a little rediculous to me, but I thought I would post it, since I would like to buy these rolls of film off of my friend. They mention "Panzers" on the canisters. so I thought it was worth while looking further into the matter.

Has anyone heard of "Exploding Film"?

Nitrate films are inflammable and dangerous; SICHERHEITSFILM (safety film) are basically OK.

I had not been aware of any non safety 16mm (and 8mm) films, but I googled it now to find http://www.nmpft.org.uk/insight/info/5.3.52.pdf. You don't have to worry, I believe.

      Thanks,
That was most helpful. I will inspect the film later this week,
      Scott
