    Flemish and German to English needed for Zeebrugge files

    The following 2 are from police reports to the local Ortskommandant in Zeebrugge:

    This appears to say not much happening.

    This one may be a job applicant with the polizei

    This is an unrelated page which caught my eye.

    thanks,

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff

    The first (and second) photo says that on 15th and 16th of September 1940, no people from outside the city of Zeebrugge have reported theirselves in the police station.

    On 13th of September, Victor Driessen from the south of Belgium (Ougrée), has reported himself as living contemporary in Zeebrugge, untill 18th of September.

      Hallöchen Jeff,

      So, nun woll ich auch mal. I translate here the German police report; it is a very formal letter asking for specific compensatory costs to the Belgian civilians (and hotels, as you see) since they had to lodge German soldiers in their houses / rooms. This Victor Driessen is not a police applicant (Belgians could not enter German police, only play translator at the best) but he is just letting the police know that he will temporary reside there. As you already suspected: "Nib nove sub sole".

      Here the German document;

      Attached quarter list has been submitted to us through the police commisar in Zeebrügge.

      As you are aware, it is the city council who pays compensations because of quarter services. The sums are based on the number of quarterd persons. For the calculus of the compensatory amounts we need, separatly for each building, the exact description of services provided. We ask you to complete the attached list (Hotel "de la Victoire" and so forth).

      Because the quarter amounts can be payed quicker payed after the month is over, we ask you to provide us with, through the local police, submit us the seperate quarter papers.

      With regards.
