Pics of a Jewish ghetto??.. Opinions please

I hope this is the right section for posting this thread.
I was hoping someone could tell me more about these pictures.
As you can see on two of the pics, people are wearing armbands (red ring around armbands).
On the back of one picture there is some writing. What does it say?

In my opinion these are indeed jews, but it doesn't look like a ghetto: probably just a town in the East in 1941, before the ghetto/deportation time? The back of the photos says "Judenmark in Osnock(?)", Osnack being some place in the East.
