Heer Obergefreiter Photo- Unit ID Help

Can someone help identify the type unit of this Heer Obergefreiter? On the button there is the number “2” and an embroidered “P” in the center of the strap.

I think he's a member of a Panzerj******228;ger abteilung, the number seems to be covered by a piece of cloth or something. the 2 on the button would denote the 2 kompanie. I'd take a guess that the photo was taken in 40 or 41

Thanks for the reply. So, he was a tank killer. I saw that square patch of cloth too on his shoulder strap and was wondering if I was seeing things. Thanks for your help!
