Nice little grouping. The pink card is his Sport Club members' identification card. The hard-back reddish book is the German Workers Party (or Association) members' book, fairly standard for everybody who had a job. I believe they were used to track monthly payments to the Workers Party, as evidenced by the stamps in it.
All the text pages in the DRL books list the requirements for the various levels of awards (for Silver, swim 500 mtrs. in 20 mins; for Gold, in 17 mins., that sort of thing). Obviously you can see he earned the silver badge in 1936.
