Anyone recognise this gold party badge holder?

I have had this photo for a good while and it is part of a grouping from a docter. This fellow is in a number of photos so I thought I would take that chance and maybe someone recognises him. Thanks for looking. Mike

Can't say for sure, but all awards are a match for eventual Gauleiter and Reichsfuhrer-SS Karl Hanke, who served with 7.Panzer-Division in France.

    Best,

Thanks Mike for your help. I think you are right, though the complete photo looks like it may have been taken in Russia. I bought this and the rest of the photos from the fellows that published the book on Panzer wrecks so the 7-Panzer link is a distinct possibility.

These last two photos which at first I thought they the above person but on scanning I feel they show a different person. Let me know what you think. Mike

these last two look like the same fella to me. Look to have the same awards and came in the same grouping as the first photo.

Well- now I have doubts. The guy in the other photos doesn't really resemble Hanke, and if they were taken in Russia, that rules him out completely. I think I see an Ostmedaille ribbon, and he did not serve on the Ostfront. Also, by the time of Operation Barbarossa, he had received the Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber.

But thanks for sharing these unusual photos - somewhat rare to see the GPB on Heer uniform.

          Best,
          ~ Mike

You're right- appears to be two different guys, both of whom happen to wear the GPB. Still some chance that the first one could be Hanke.

Mike here is the full photo of the possible Hanke. What do you think? Looks like Russia but I could be wrong.

Are there named lists of GPB wearers? I think there are numbered lists. The reason I ask is that one of the two photos of the second fellow has Danniger written on the back. Forgot it was there, as I didn't pay attention when I scanned it.

Wishful thinking Mike. It's not Hanke.
                Max.
