    Stolen picture from Package

    Hello Members,

I waited about 6 months for a package from Europe. After all the deals were made my friend sent me the items. Well, the box was stoped in Montreal, Canada, opened by a postal worker. This picture was removed. I know that I will probably never receive it, but if any of you could be kind enough to let me know if you see it pop up somewhere. I don't know how much its worth, the item was a present for helping my friend out.

    Lubos

PS If anyone has bought it and would care to sell it back to me at a reasonable price, please let me know, any member here would buy it unexpectedly as legit. My collection is small so any one item is dearly missed.

This one is a very rare one and worth in the area of $300.00.

Why would a postal worker open a package and remove just a picture and not the other items? This only makes sense if he knew the value of this picture.

I think he removed it because it is small and easily hidden. It was also between 2 cardboard pieces so that it doesn't bend. He could have easily "tossed" it on the ground only to pick it up later. The box had a parka, hood, 2 gas masks, zelt, SS helmet cover in it. I paid for all except for the picture which was a present. I liked it because it was so powerfull visualy...

Does Canada have any laws banning the SS runes or Swastika? If so maybe it was a 'legitimate' customs confiscation? but I'd think you would have been at least notified, if not fined...

too bad, if it was stolen, that really sucks. I hope the theif gets a paper cut, it gets infected and he loses his tossing hand...

Stuff like this sucks big donkey balls.
isnt it anyway you can complain to the postal office? That guy should be fired from the job.

Not to mention your dissapointment for not recieving your stuff. I really feel with you on that since I know how great it is to get stuff you collect in the mail..

            Thieves and scum are everywhere.

The worst nightmare is the postal work took it home and nail it on the wall... or abuse it...

Those damn postal workers. Rude, belligerent and a general pain. I am sorry about your poster. But at least the bugger didnt take your SS camo cover.

I am curious as to how you came to your conclusion that it was a postal worker in Montreal? Most packages take quite a journey and comes through many hands.

Perhaps your friend just "forgot" to add the present to the other items?

                      Registered mail

I have gone to sending everything overseas registered mail... its costs more but have yet to have anything stolen OR opened. I also use the that horrible wide brown paper tape that has to be wiped with water for it stick to the packages. Tough to re-tape a package with the tape they have on hand for opened packages.

Robert, I agree with you, as I went through the exact dame experience. I tried to send some DVDs and cds to a friend. It got stolen. I had note registered it. I also used the typical tape.
The second time around, I registered it and used that horrible brown sticky tape you wet with water. This time my dvds and cds got through.

                          Hello to all,
Thank you for your kind words. I guess all I can say is "**** happens". Why do I think it was a postal worker. Well, for one, customs didn't even open the package. The only thing that was on the box was a stamp that said "resealed a damaged parcel" or something like that. My friend took great pains at making sure all is secure and safe. He taped the crap out of the box. There was no visible damage to it when I got it. All that was on the box was white plastic strips that held it together. It wasn't falling apart! Someone, cut it open very carefully, examined it, removed what suited them and then sealed it up. To cover their tracks they put a "fixed" stamp on it. That way if anything is "missing" all they will say is "the package was damaged, the item must have fallen out, we're not responsible". This whole thing stinks of someone stealing and then carefuly covering up their tracks. Why didn't they steal anything else? Like I said, the picture was between two cardboard pieces. The thief threw it away because it was just "garbage". He then recovered it at his leisure.... I've been working twelve hour shift and haven't even had time to call the post during business hours. I'll try tomorrow and see if anyone is there. Wish me luck.
All I'd need is just the name of the person that opened, I have ways of making people talk...

The only thing that could be worse is that He or She opened it, took out the taped together pieces, thought they were packaging, and actually threw it away, when what they saw in package did not suit them. If that happened it is lost forever. The point is it was still a thief and you did not deserve it.
