    awardgroup

    Hello

I just saw an awardgroup from a german officer. He won the ek2 and the ek1 on the same day. I think that rather rare. Am I right?
    HAve a look.

    Hello Nick.
I identified the unit this officer belonged to , as Pi.Btl. 51 which was extensively deployed during the invasion of your homeland in May 1940 , namely the attack on Ft. Eben Emael ( support/relief of the airlanded paratroopers) and the securing of vital bridges. The battalion commander Obstlt. Hans Mikosch was awarded the Knights Cross with same date as was another soldier (NCO) whose name escapes me presently.

You refers to Oberfeldwebel Portsteffen, both received the RK from Hitler. I agree that is not uncommon, but rare to see a simultaneous award of both Iron Crosses, nice group, do you obtained something more about this man?

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

            hello Angel.
Thank you for jarring my memory ref. Ofw. Portsteffen.
The detailed signatures clearly reveal the one for Obstlt. Mikosch. The others also contain two of Gen. d. Inf. A. Waeger (Umlaut )

                Hello Nick,
Nice little document group.....it is quite rare as people have already mentioned to get both awards on the same day...I have a few in my collection like this!
The EK documents are signed by General der Infanterie Alfred Wäger.
What is this guys name Dietrich Kühn? I tried checked the war graves site but could not find anyone with that name who was an officer..........

                /Ian
