Thanks Guys for your input. They are definitely not Russians, uniforms don't look like Yugoslavian, Dutch would be a better bet.
There's no insignia, medals etc on the uniforms to help ID them.

Here's a Yugoslavian POW photo showing that the uniform is different to the one in my photo.

Thanks for the positive ID.

It seems strange that the albums original owner would get the caption so wrong seeing that he spent so much of his service in Russia.

Todd, Good idea bringing this thread back up. Yeah, they look like French Colonials to me.

I was once told this was a possible Political Commisar? Possibly talking to his family before being taken by Polizei? Wonder if that was his last photo?
