The war is over for them, they look not so disappointed. But many of them would not survive...

I don't know who these POWs were fighting for as the pic was taken in Bulgaria which was an ally of Germany.

These Serbian POWs look on nervously while their captors discuss their fate.

Photo taken in Serbia but the POWs look like Croatians.

New Zealand POWs - Ortona, Italy

My friend in Germany, a WW2 Fsj veteran, knocked-out a Sherman tank in the Orsogna area on December 16, 1943, and he and his mates took the New Zealand crew manning it as prisoners. With the help of a Kiwi photographer or journalist whom he met at the Monte Cassino memorial which he attended, he has since located these fellows and is in regular contact with them. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, as they're from copies.

                              Regards,
                              John

German POWs - Neys, Ontario Camp in Canada

Here is a period photo taken of German POWs and guards of the Veterans Guard of Canada at the Neys, Ontario POW camp that was in operation there from 1941-1946.
