Auctually these are romanian soldiers. The Hungarian army never officially switched sides, though some units did switch to the side of the Soviets. It was falsly reported to the Germans that the elite Szent László Division switched sides, and this rumor caused the Germans to order the disarmorment of all Hungarian soldiers not serving in German units, ie the Hungarian SS.

Great photograph, I love your color slides! But I would se he's a HiWi rather than a POW, judging by his armband.
