It looks like his face is badly burnt once. Anybody?

I think you mean Karl Arndt? There is indeed a little resemblance to him, but these photos are out of a photo-album of a member of Sturmgeschütz-Brigade 341 that was at that time (1944) in France. I believe that Arndt was in Russia then

Arndt was on the Western front at the end of the war. Surrendered near Stendel. He held the RK with oaks and the German Cross in Gold. My father was at his surrender.
