A final goodbye, Robert Ritter von Greim

    Hi guys,

managed to add this signed and dedicated picture to my collection.
It is signed by Robert Ritter von Greim in the final stage of his life and
the war, just before he flew with Hanna Reitsch to the Führerbunker and weeks before he shot himself in the
head as supreme commander of the Luftwaffe.
Very rarely you find autographs from high ranked officers that late in the war.
It is dedicated to Alois Mayr, a befriended Luftwaffe commander. It came with two pictures from Mayr during the first world war
    and a pencil drawing.
The Von Greim picture is in excellent condition and very sharp in detail. It's an Agfa Brovira picture. It gives a good view on his zinc cored Juncker Knight's Cross and
Godet swords. Total measurements of this signed picture
is 36 X 30cm. It has some foxing on the white carton but preserved nicely.
    The dedication reads:

'The excellent proven commander of 1/Luftnachrichten regiment 35 and longtime
member of my staff Major Mayr in thankful recognition and loyal friendship.
    14.3.45 Von Greim'

The only thing i can't translate is the abbreviation of the location.
I would be very grateful if somebody could help me with that.
Also further information about Alois Mayr would be very helpful.

    Jelle

Great piece of history. Especially when one like to read books about the last days in the bunker. Congrat's with this signed picture, Jelle!!!

That is a great piece, it took me some time to find a signed photo of him, and mine dates from the French campaign.

Hard to read... Not Sütterlin. I thought it might be FHQ... but probably not.
